UCI Ministry Description – Assistant Pastor
Ministry Purpose
- The role of the Assistant Pastor is to assist the Senior Pastor in a variety of capacities in order to fulfill the Vision of UCI.
- Chief among these responsibilities is the oversight and involvement in ministering to the younger generation of UCI, especially Young Adults and Teens, with the primary aim being discipleship.
- The Assistant Pastor will be part of the preaching cadre for pulpit supply, as desired and agreed with the Senior Pastor.
- The Assistant Pastor will shoulder some administrative responsibilities, as agreed upon with the Senior Pastor.
- The Assistant Pastor will be responsible for prenuptial counseling of couples, and marrying engaged couples, when so desired by the couple.
- The Assistant Pastor will so invest himself in the lives of the young people that he will be a natural counselor to them, offering godly guidance for their lives.
- The Assistant Pastor will engage in other capacities, as agreed with the Senior Pastor.
Qualifications
The Assistant Pastor of UCI
- will be a baptized, mature Christian of moral integrity with a clear testimony of a personal faith in Jesus Christ and a vocational calling to ministry;
- will ideally be a seminary graduate (US), or have a degree from a theological faculty (UK, Europe);
- will ideally be ordained by a recognized ecclesiastical body;
- will ideally have at least two years of successful ministry experience, preferably in Young Adult and Youth ministries;
- will have an appreciation and ability to work with a multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-confessional congregation;
- will ideally be partially funded by a sending organization;
- will have a working ability of the Turkish language, or will take UCI-sponsored courses to acquire this skill;
- will have a heart for young people, and a yearning to see them discipled in Christ.
The position is seen as a minimum two year commitment, with an option for longer term ministry.

UCI Ministry Description – Worship and Arts Director
Ministry Purpose
The Worship and Arts Director
- will organize and regularly lead the praise and worship ministry of public gatherings of UCI;
- will recruit and organize others for their participation in the praise and worship ministry;
- will also oversee and organize the choir for Christmas and Easter performances;
- will coordinate artistic performances, such as theatre, vignettes, readings, mime, etc.;
- will be responsible for the acquisition of music notes and theatrical equipment for performances.
Qualifications
The Worship and Arts Director
- will be a baptized, mature Christian of moral integrity with a clear testimony of a personal faith in Jesus Christ;
- will preferably have at least a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis on worship and ministry;
- will be able to read music as well as lead sheets (chords);
- will be able to play at least piano/keyboard in various styles;
- will be vocally competent to lead worship;
- will be able to lead a blended style of worship to include traditional, contemporary and locally contextual styles of music;
- will have a basic understanding of sound systems and be able to interact with them for various situations;
- will have an articulated worship as ministry philosophy;
- will have an appreciation and ability to work with a multi-cultural, multi-national, multi-confessional congregation;
- will preferably have at least two years of successful ministry of worship experience prior to coming to UCI;
- will ideally be partially funded by a sending organization;
- will have, or acquire at UCI’s expense, a basic level of Turkish language ability.
The position is seen as a minimum two year commitment, with an option for longer term ministry.
